Can There Any Longer Be A Question That Trump Is A Russian Asset?

In 2016, the U.S. Intelligence Community and subsequent investigations found that Russia heavily interfered in the 2016 presidential election on Trump’s behalf through a hacking and disinformation campaign ordered directly by Vladimir Putin. Though Trump denied it, a Senate committee report concluded that the interference was “sweeping and systematic.”

Additionally, a Special Counsel investigation detailed numerous links between Russia and the Trump campaign resulting in 37 indictments and seven guilty pleas or convictions. Moreover, the investigation found that Trump obstructed the investigation on numerous occasions.

Despite the findings, Special Counsel Robert Mueller declined to charge Trump with crimes as it was believed that only Congress could hold a sitting president accountable.

Of course, there are plenty of other reasons to question Trump’s ties with Russia. A Reuters review of the Trump real estate business found that Russian oligarchs close to Putin invested more than $100 million in Trump properties, including five Trump Tower condos purchased by the Russian mob for more than $4.9 million. And, in most cases, it was found that Russians grossly overpaid for the properties, often a clear sign of money laundering.

Not coincidentally, we recently learned that Capital One closed 385 Trump bank accounts in 2021 over concerns that they were being used for money laundering.

In other signs of a “special arrangement” between Trump and the Kremlin, Trump has sided with Putin over our own intelligence community. He clearly sided with Putin in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by verbally attacking and demeaning Ukraine President Volodamir Zelensky during an Oval Office meeting, by withholding arms to Ukraine, by calling for Zelensky to resign, by suggesting that Ukraine should cede territory to Russia, and by recently blocking Ukraine’s use of Starlink for its self-defense.

Trump has promoted trilateral “peace talks” with the U.S., Russia and China, notably excluding Ukraine. He signed an Executive Order dismissing the most recent congressional-approved economic sanctions against Russia. He violated other sanctions by agreeing to purchase millions of gallons of diesel fuel from Russia providing them an estimated $3.8 to $5.3 billion with which to provide military help to another of our adversaries – Iran. And this week, his special envoy charged with negotiating an end to the war called the murderous Putin a “great humanitarian.”

Further, Trump’s actions including accelerating the national debt, decapitating the leadership of our military, breaking relationships with longtime allies, weaponizing the DOJ, and undermining the Constitution all suggest that he is a leader intent on destroying America, not making it great.

Given all of the evidence, it should be said that if Trump is not a Russian asset, he’s clearly so stupid, so naïve and so entranced by Putin that he is unqualified to continue to hold office.

This Isn’t A Presidential Administration. It’s An Infestation.

An infestation of shameless con artists, hucksters and sadists who comprise the most corrupt and deadly crime family in history. One that is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people. A crime family that has exploited its political power to enrich themselves with billions of taxpayer dollars – money that was intended to improve lives of the impoverished and the downtrodden as well as ordinary hardworking Americans.

The Felon-in-Chief has used his position to finally become the billionaire he long claimed to be. He has raked in billions through licensing agreements, foreign gifts, and investments, including more than $1.4 billion from his unethical and likely illegal cryptocurrency venture. And when he’s not filling his pockets, he’s wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayer funds on his grotesque vanity projects. Likewise, his sons, daughter and son-in-law have used their relationships to finagle multi-billion-dollar government contracts and foreign investments.

Not to be outdone, members of the cabinet and other officials have enriched themselves through apparent insider trading. The former head of DHS, the FBI director, the Transportation Secretary, and others have helped themselves to taxpayer funds through luxury trips, extended vacations and more. Even the Trump-appointed ambassadors seem to be on the take as evidenced by the recently exposed scandal involving Kimberly Guilfoyle and the revelation that Ambassador Mike Hudkabee’s family is selling trips to Israel. (Perhaps they should include tours of Gaza and the West Bank so their clients can experience genocide firsthand.)

Because of Trump’s promise that they will receive pardons at the end of his term, the entire administration seems to be engaged in a contest to see which of them can make off with the most taxpayer money. Or who can extort the largest bribes…er…gifts from foreign governments. Or who can finagle the biggest federal contract for their family and friends.

Though they’re obviously skilled at corruption, they’re utterly incompetent at the jobs they are paid to do. As a result, we’re immersed in an ill-advised and unwinnable war, inflation is exploding, and the national debt is soaring.

It’s time we fumigate our government to end this infestation. A blue wave in this midterm election could result in the impeachment and conviction of numerous members of the crime family. Then we should find a way to prosecute them all, despite the expected pardons, and claw back every dime with interest and additional billions in penalties.

Focusing On What Really Matters.

Since the return of the Felon-in-Chief to the Oval Office, it seems that Democrats have spent most of their time focused on the Felon’s failing physical and cognitive health, as well as his despicable behavior and outrageous statements.

Every day, we see and hear their reactions to his repeated lies about the 2020 election. His daily lies about the economy. His attacks on the Smithsonian and the Kennedy Center. His destruction of the East Wing. His plans for a Kremlin-style ballroom, as well as his Arc d’ Trump and the Washington golf course.

Certainly, these things are alarming. But they are mostly distractions – mere symptoms of the many excesses of the Trump regime.

There are far more important concerns, such as the ill-considered war with Iran, the growing oil crisis, the mass deportations of people of color, the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the West Bank, Russia’s war on Ukraine, the weakening of our military and our international standing, our relationships with allies and our trading partners, the numerous violations of our Constitution, the massive corruption of the Trump crime family and its billionaire friends, our exploding national debt and, most important, the upcoming midterm elections.

For far too long, Democratic leaders have been relatively silent about the things that truly matter. And now it seems that they are just biding their time until the new Congress is sworn in on January 3, 2027.

But there’s an old truth about not counting your chickens until they’re hatched. In fair and free elections, Democrats will almost certainly enjoy a large blue wave. But there are no guarantees that the elections will be fair and free. Indeed, they may never even happen.

For months, Trump and his fascist friends have been preparing to steal the elections. In Republican-controlled states, they have used extreme gerrymandering in an attempt to dilute Democratic votes. They have closed polling places in Democrat-leaning districts. They have tried to disrupt mail-in voting. They have tried to override state control of elections. They have tried to gain access to every state’s voting records. They have threatened to deploy ICE thugs to polling places in an effort to intimidate black and brown voters. They have threatened to prosecute poll workers. They have threatened to declare a national emergency to delay or deny the elections. There’s talk of an apparent plan for Speaker Johnson to refuse to seat newly elected Democrats. And Trump has rehired Elon Musk despite claims by Musk’s ex that he bragged about using his Starlink technology to rig the 2024 election on Trump’s behalf.

Think all of this is a Democrat-inspired fantasy? Think again.

If the Felon and his MAGAts were willing to attack the nation’s capital on January 6, 2020, with the intent of overturning the election results and hanging Mike Pence along with Democratic representatives, what’s to stop them from doing it again? Or from doing something worse? After all, those MAGA criminals have been pardoned and are undoubtedly on standby to do the Felon’s bidding again.

So, instead of focusing on the daily chaos, the hateful messages, the latest faux pas, and the latest vanity project, Democrats need to be laser-focused on protecting the midterm elections and countering every possible MAGA attack. They can’t take for granted that the midterms will see a new Congress willing to rein in this fascist regime. Democrats and independents need to vote in overwhelming numbers and be prepared to fight as if the future of our democracy depends on them.

Because it does.
