What Trump Has Taken From Us.

Despite his braggadocio, Trump likely wasn’t a billionaire when he regained the presidency last year. But he certainly is now.

In just the first year of the Felon’s second term in office, he and his family have enriched themselves with an astonishing $2.2 billion, most of it from taxpayers and those who invested in his unscrupulous cryptocurrency scheme. And that sum is just a fraction of what his regime has cost taxpayers through his “Big Beautiful Bill”, his war of choice, and his numerous vanity projects.

Indeed, at least $11.6 trillion of our $40 trillion national debt (29 percent) has been accumulated while Trump has been in office. And another $2 trillion increase under Biden should rightfully be attributed to Trump’s failed Covid response. Imagine how much more debt Trump can accumulate in the remaining two-and-a-half years of his term.

But taxpayer money is the least of what he and his cronies have taken from us.

  • Since the Felon recaptured the Oval Office, much of the power of Congress has been usurped by the Executive Office with help from the MAGA-controlled SCOTUS.
  • Immigrants and many American citizens have lost their right to due process – the opportunity to defend themselves in a court of law. And after the murders of American citizens by ICE, many Americans have lost their sense of personal safety.
  • So, too, have we lost our constitutional right to privacy as the result of Flock cameras and other forms of government surveillance,
  • Through Trump appointments of loyalists, our independent and ethical judiciary has been compromised.
  • Similarly, our DOJ and FBI have been politicized and charged with arresting Trump’s political enemies.
  • The constitutional freedom of the press has been compromised.
  • Likewise, our constitutional freedom of speech has been under attack as never before.
  • The leadership of our military has been decapitated and weakened.
  • Our Department of Defense has been turned into the Department of War – an act, given Trump’s war of choice against Iran, is more than symbolic.
  • The government bureau created to protect taxpayers’ personal finances – the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau – has been dismantled.
  • Our voting rights, especially those of minorities and youth, are subjected to a multi-pronged attack of gerrymandering, federal interference, intimidation, and more.
  • Many Americans have lost access to healthcare as a result of cutbacks needed to further reduce the taxes of corporations and billionaires.
  • Additionally, funding cuts to the National Institutes for Health and the Centers for Disease Control have again weakened our ability to predict and respond to future pandemics.
  • The defunding of USAID quite literally cost millions of lives in less developed nations that depended on the charity of the US. As it turned out, that was just the first attack on our international reputation. Since then, we have lost the respect of longtime allies and most of the civilized world due to the regime’s trade tariffs and lack of concern for NATO, the UN and human rights.
  • Trust is science and expertise have been lost as evidenced by our disregard for the environment, the climate crisis and looming extinction of tens of thousands of species.
  • Public funding of religious and private schools along with cuts to public schools have compromised our world class education system.
  • The Felon’s inflated ego has cost us Jackie Kennedy’s rose garden, the East Wing, the South Lawn, a tastefully decorated Oval Office, 60 cherry trees, and possibly the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
  • Trump’s racism has caused the government to rewrite history.
  • We have lost nearly 600,000 of our friends and neighbors – immigrants who have been detained and deported – most of them law abiding, hardworking people and their families.
  • Trump’s war of choice, corporate deregulation and his ill-advised tariffs have cost us affordable fuel and groceries.
  • Worst of all, a majority of our citizens have lost trust in our government and grasp of the truth given his never-ending tsunami of lies.

What Next?

After MAGA completes its mass deportations, what happens to the more than 200 immigrant detention centers in the U.S. that currently hold nearly 71 thousand people? What happens to all the new detention centers built at a cost of $45 billion? What happens to ICE, now the nation’s largest “law enforcement” agency that’s 80,000 strong with an annual budget of $27.7 billion? What happens to the roughly 8,500 new Customs and Border Patrol agents? What happens to the new nationwide surveillance system tracking immigrants and citizens alike? What happens to the hyperinflated budget for the DHS?

I think it’s naïve to believe that they’re going away. Or that they’ll even be downsized. After all, there’s a longstanding belief among those in government that if you don’t use it, you lose it.

I believe that MAGA may very well have long-range plans for them – to create concentration camps for political dissenters. For the so-called “communist” Democrats. For reporters who refuse to submit and refuse to perpetuate MAGA propaganda. For military officers who refuse to follow MAGA’s illegal orders. For academics who refuse to teach the false narrative of whitewashed history. For Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and other non-Christian nationalists. For atheists. For women who exercise the right to control their own bodies. For people of color. For gays and lesbians. For transgenders. For anti-Israelis.

Possibly for you.

We’ve seen variations of this before. In Hungary, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Zionist Israel, China, Russia, fascist Italy, Nazi Germany and dictatorships throughout history and around the world.

Think it couldn’t happen here? Think our government institutions and the Constitution will prevent it?

Thanks to DOGE and the Felon-in-Chief’s MAGA loyalists, those institutions have already been dismantled or hollowed-out. Congress has become a rubber stamp for the Felon’s fascist policies. The fascist-friendly majority of SCROTUS has consistently ruled in support of the Felon – even granted him immunity. And the Felon and his regime have already violated or attempted to violate more than a dozen provisions of the Constitution, the document that makes America what it is. Or, at least what it was.

Most of the safeguards are gone and many Americans helped destroy them by voting for a felonious charlatan who promised them cheaper gas and groceries. By refusing to fight back when threatened with a lawsuit or the Felon’s cyberbullying. By hoping that that the Felon and his MAGA government will just go away or, at least, not come after them.

If our democracy fails, many of those people will have gotten what they deserve – likely a gang of warrantless, masked, armed men breaking down their doors and taking them to one of the detention camps. Or, like Renee Good, Alex Pretti and others, something even worse.

Why Does The Republican Party Even Exist?

Once the proud party of Lincoln whose actions saved the Republic and emancipated the slaves, the Republican Party has been caught in a destructive downward spiral ever since. Of the seven presidents who served during the nation’s Gilden Age, six were Republicans. Together, they endorsed Horse and Sparrow economics – the predecessor of Trickle-Down economics – that allowed a few industrialists to create an enormous wealth gap between themselves and ordinary Americans.

Likewise, the scandal-plagued, pro-business administrations of Republicans Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge created an overheated economy that led to the 1929 Wall Street crash and the Great Depression. They were followed by Republican Herbert Hoover who, although he was credited with organizing a massive food relief program during and after WWI, his timid response to the Great Depression resulted in a deepening of the depression that continued until the election of Democratic Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower, the hero of WWII, led us into the Vietnam War and signed off on the Dulles brothers’ ill-advised overthrow of democratically elected governments in Iran, Guatemala, Indonesia and Congo. He also embraced White Christian Nationalists who added “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance and changed the national motto from “E Pluribus Unum” (from many, one) to “In God We Trust. Those same religious and racist zealots have been trying to turn the U.S. into an unconstitutional theocratic-driven Christian nation ever since.

Republican Richard M. Nixon was elected, in part, due to his violation of the Logan Act by intervening in the Vietnam peace talks. He and Henry Kissinger supported a military coup to overthrow the democratically elected government of Chile. Further, his re-election campaign was marked by a series of dirty tricks aimed at Democratic candidates leading to the Watergate break-in and cover-up and his eventual resignation to avoid impeachment. Not surprisingly, Nixon’s Republican successor, Gerald R. Ford, pardoned Nixon to save him from criminal prosecution.

Like Nixon, Republican Ronald Reagan was elected, in part, as a result of his violation of the Logan Act by encouraging Iran to delay the return of U.S. hostages until after the election in return for a better deal. His Trickle-Down economic plan led to a wave of corporate consolidations that continues today, as well as tax cuts for the wealthy. He opened the door for today’s propaganda network by ending the Fairness Doctrine. And he famously created a shadow government as part of Iran-Contra Affair.

Republican George H. Bush continued Reagan’s pro-corporate economic policies and led the U.S. into a war with Iraq called Desert Storm. Republican George W. Bush reprised his father’s war with Iraq costing the U.S. 4,431 military deaths and an estimated $4 trillion. His economic policies also led to the Great Recession following the 2007 banking and real estate crash.

Finally, we get to the worst of them all: the twice-impeached Donald J. Trump.

Elected with the obvious help of Russia, the Felon-in-Chief mishandled the Covid pandemic leading to the deaths of roughly 1 million Americans. Among other illegal acts while in office, he ordered the payment of hush money to coverup an affair and sex with a porn star. He led a conspiracy to overturn his election loss through insurrection. He stole boxes of the nation’s top secrets and engaged in a coverup. Then, when he returned to office, he pardoned the insurrectionists and seditionists and sold pardons to convicted supporters.

He has engaged in self-dealing and insider trading helping his family raise between $2 and $4 billion to date. He and his cabinet have committed numerous constitutional violations. He illegally destroyed the East Wing of the White House. He has engaged the U.S. in an ill-advised and illegal war against Iran leading to out-of-control inflation. He has attacked news media and advanced the MAGA propaganda network. He imposed illegal tariffs against most of our trading partners. He has compromised relationships with our most trusted allies and NATO.

He has threatened free and fair elections. He has used the FBI and DOJ to exact vengeance against his perceived political enemies. He has ignored the climate crisis. He has tried to rewrite history to diminish our nation’s involvement in genocide and slavery. He created a large masked and heavily armed militarized force to arrest hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants. In the process, that force has repeatedly violated the Constitution and murdered dozens of people, including two U.S. citizens. Further, the 34-time convicted felon and litigated sexual assaulter has overseen the destruction of virtually every institution and norm that made our country great.

Seriously, why does that party continue to exist?

The World’s Most Powerful Crime Network.

Who could have imagined the FBI and DOJ becoming part of a crime syndicate in support of a narcissistic crime boss? But that’s exactly what has happened. Even the MAGA-dominated Supreme Court has participated in the ongoing crime spree by granting the Felon immunity while sitting in the Oval Office, and by gutting the Voting Rights Act allowing MAGA to gerrymander districts in his favor.

And, of course, all of the MAGA Republicans in Congress should be considered co-conspirators and accessories after the fact.

The Felon-in-Chief once bragged that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and people would still vote for him. Turns out he has done far worse. The first weeks in his 2nd term he froze spending for USAID. That single action is estimated to have led to the deaths of millions. Since then, he has engineered budget cuts making healthcare unaffordable for millions of Americans. He and his ICEstapo have incarcerated thousands of immigrants, most of whom were here legally. He has overseen the executions of dozens of men operating boats in international waters. He has sent billions to Israel to help them continue their genocide in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. He allowed Israel to drag us into a war against Iran resulting in the deaths of 13 American service members and hundreds Iranian civilians, including 120 school children and their teachers. And he cut funding for the institutions responsible for preventing the next pandemic which could again lead to the deaths of millions.

It’s clear that his actions have killed many times the number of people as all the rest of the world’s organized crime families combined. And, with the power of the U.S. military and its stockpile of nuclear weapons, there is literally no limit to the harm the Teflon Don can inflict.

Moreover, there seems to be no limit to the amount of taxpayer funds the Felon and his charlatan family and friends plan to steal. It began with his $3.4 million weekend golf trips. Then there’s his family’s crypto schemes, his billion-dollar ballroom and other vanity projects, his $1.776 billion slush fund intended to pay off his criminal supporters, the blatant insider trading of he and his gang, Kristi Noem’s $250 million vanity ad campaign, Sean Duffy’s year-long all-expenses paid family vacation…the full extent of the corruption is much too long to cover here. On top of all that, if the DOJ “settlement” of the Felon’s lawsuit is allowed to stand, he and his family will be able to defraud the government out of many more billions in taxes for the rest of their lives.

It’s enough to make Mafia families, Mexican drug cartels, and all the rest of the world’s organized crime families green with envy.

Feeding The Felon’s Ego.

I believe Trump’s vision of a White House ballroom encapsulates the entire Trump presidency, indeed his entire life. First, he decides to build a grandiose ballroom in his name. He and his friends will pay for it, and it will be attached to the East Wing. But don’t worry, the East Wing will not be touched. Instead, it was demolished. Then we were assured that the new East Wing and the ballroom would be even better. And they would be funded by private donors. No taxpayer funds needed. Now…now we are told that building the ballroom is a matter of national security, and it will cost taxpayers a billion dollars!

None of this should come as a surprise. In the Trump regime, EVERYTHING IS A LIE! A lie to feed the insatiable ego of a deeply flawed individual.

Though he has done nothing to advance the lives of others (in fact, the lives of most Americans are demonstrably worse for his malignant narcissism), the Felon-in-Chief has a grandiose vision of himself as some sort of savior. A leader so revered that the entire capital city and all of America’s symbols should pay tribute to him.

Like Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, and other despots before him, he wants his image and his name plastered everywhere. Not satisfied with seeing his name in cartoonishly large letters atop hotels, on golf courses, on airplanes and the like, he wants to see it on theaters, government buildings, and airports. And, of course on his grandiose ballroom and an even more self-aggrandizing “Arch d’ Trump.”

He even has expectations of seeing his highly punchable face on Mt. Rushmore. Who knows? Before he can be dragged out of the now gold encrusted Oval Office, he may try to rename the White House after himself, or the District of Columbia, or the entire nation.

“Welcome to Trumplandia, formerly known as the United States of America.”

And what has the Felon done to earn this greater than George Washington legacy? He pushed his way into office with help from Russia and its highly dangerous leader. He embraced bullies, racists, thugs, and terrorists of every kind. He weakened our international standing and alienated our most reliable allies. He destroyed our democracy’s most valuable institutions and traditions and turned Americans against one another as never before. He reshaped the Supreme Court and is in the midst of politicizing the entire judicial system.

His national police force has terrorized cities. His “War Department” has committed war crimes. He has set back race and gender relations by more than 50 years. He has rolled back regulations and compromised our environment. His failed response to the pandemic killed more than a million Americans and tanked our economy. He cut off food and medical aid to impoverished people around the world leading to millions more deaths. He has imprisoned and deported thousands of law-abiding immigrants who had become necessary parts of our communities. With the help of RFK, jr., he has made the world even more vulnerable to the next pandemic.

He started a war of choice that has destabilized the Middle East and crippled world economies. He has overseen a regime of unparalleled corruption. In just the first year of his second term, he has used his title to enrich his family with more than $4 billion. And by the time he’s done, he will likely have doubled the national debt.

Given all this, I submit there is only one fitting monument to bear his name: A prison. Who else is for renaming Gitmo?

The Coming Reckoning.

In the 1930s and late 1960s, the U.S. experienced unparalleled social progress under Democratic leadership that made life better for the vast majority of Americans. In the 1930s, we saw the official end of the Gilded Age along with the economic rescue of millions of Americans after the Great Depression thanks to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. FDR also created Social Security which meant that after a lifetime of work most Americans could finally experience a comfortable retirement.

Though he is most known for a war he did not start, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and the Civil Rights Act of 1968. He also created Medicare and Medicaid as part of his war on poverty.

Though he never served as president, Ralph Nader had an enormous impact on our quality of life in the 1970s. As a result of his efforts, the Freedom of Information Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Clean Water Act, the Consumer Product Safety Act, and the Whistleblower Protection Act were born. He also influenced the creation of the EPA to help clean up our environment and OSHA to improve the safety of workers.

In 1998, 1999, 2000 and part of 2001, after digging us out of a recession, President Bill Clinton oversaw federal budget surpluses for the first time in decades. This despite the fact that he invested heavily in education and technology, in additional police to lower crime, and in health initiatives such as the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Earned Income Tax Credit to help low-income families.

President Barack Obama continued the tradition of Democratic presidents repairing the economy after Republican shortcomings by digging us out of the Great Recession. He also created the Affordable Care Act to give tens of millions of Americans access to affordable health insurance. In addition, he pushed for initiatives to mitigate climate change.

And, like Democratic presidents before him, President Joe Biden rescued the economy following the botched pandemic response. He succeeded in getting an infrastructure bill passed after many before him had failed. And he oversaw historic investments in clean energy.

For their part, Republicans have almost universally fought all of these accomplishments along the way. Beginning with President Nixon, we have seen increased attacks on voting rights. And beginning with President Reagan, we have experienced the growth of corporate consolidation and wealth disparity until, in 2014, the U.S. was officially recognized as an oligarchy, which Wikipedia defines as “a type of political system in which the wealthiest citizens deploy unique and concentrated power to defend their unique minority interests.”

In other words, for decades politicians and their benefactors have rigged our government for their personal gain to the point that a significant percentage of our population feels so helpless they want to tear it all down. We’ve watched politics become a profession. We’ve witnessed unparalleled corruption by politicians and corporate leaders as they mortgage our nation’s future.

For example, the national debt now exceeds our GDP as a result of too many wars of choice which have led to uncontrolled military spending. Adding to the problem is the loss of revenue from continuous tax cuts for the wealthy and large corporations. Former high-paying jobs have been shipped overseas so corporations can avoid paying worker benefits in their never-ending quest for increased corporate profits. Most industries have been captured by a few corporations that too often collude with one another to fix prices and flex their lobbying muscle for special treatment. This corporate consolidation has led to the collapse of many communities, especially in rural areas. Meanwhile multinationals and foreign corporations have set about controlling agriculture by swallowing up farmland and groundwater sources.

Americans’ overall health and lifespan have been diminished as a result of food scarcity, poor nutrition and lack of access to healthcare. Despite overpowering evidence of the causes and consequences of climate change, the oligarchs and many politicians have buried their heads in the sand refusing to acknowledge that it will devastate our planet with mass extinctions of species (maybe our own) along with extreme weather events, increased wildfires, sea level rise and weakening ocean currents. In addition, climate change is leading to mass migration which places stress on host nations often ending with human rights violations as we’ve seen in the U.S.

The extraction of commodities such as lumber, fossil fuels and minerals is given priority over our more important natural resources such as clean air and water, healthy forests, the diversity of wildlife and even human lives.

Moreover, our Constitution is under attack as never before. Billionaire oligarchs have taken control of our media turning long-standing news organizations into propaganda outlets that ignore reality and spew misinformation to advance their interests. Religion, race, gender and sexual preference are again being used as weapons to distract and divide us.

We are finally reaching the point where our democracy and our corrupted economy can no longer coexist. It is time for a reckoning.

It is time for congressional term limits and accountability for corruption. It is time for an effective FEC, election transparency, and limits on campaign financing. It is time to eliminate all forms of voter suppression and to make Election Day a national holiday. It is time for a strong FCC and the restoration of the Fairness Doctrine. It is time for a truly independent judiciary and Department of Justice. It is time for a wealth tax and real tax fairness. It is time for the application of antitrust laws, the reversal of Buckley v Valeo and the overturning of Citizens United.

It is time for universal healthcare and effective gun laws. It is time to fully fund and restore our public education system that was once the envy of the world. It is time to restore our international standing and strengthen relationships with allies.

And perhaps most important of all, it is time to address climate change with the urgency it requires as if the future of our planet depends on it. Because it does.

Measuring The Trump Regime 2.0.

When Trump campaigned for a second term, he promised to cut costs, lower inflation, reduce taxes, close the borders, and deport “the worst of the worst”. He also promised to bring peace to Ukraine and the Middle East, and to avoid any more “forever” wars.

So, what has his regime actually done?

  • Dismantled, or attempted to dismantle, much of the federal government.
  • Fired thousands of government employees replacing expertise and experience with loyalty.
  • Pardoned 1,600 criminals, including seditionists and drug traffickers.
  • Shuttered USAID leading to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of foreigners living in abject poverty.
  • Proclaimed the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America.
  • Threatened to make Canada the 51st state.
  • Threatened to invade Greenland.
  • Threatened to invade Cuba.
  • Threatened to invade Mexico.
  • Violated the Constitution by accepting a $400 million aircraft from Qatar.
  • Forced the Smithsonian and National Parks to remove references to slavery and our genocide of Native Americans.
  • Removed high-ranking black and female officers from the military.
  • Cut ACA subsidies making healthcare unaffordable for millions of Americans.
  • Illegally withheld funds from Planned Parenthood clinics.
  • Forced law firms and universities to kowtow by withholding federal funds.
  • Attacked freedom of the press by filing frivolous lawsuits against media for publishing unflattering stories, helping engineer the takeover of CBS and CNN by a MAGA friendly billionaire, and threatening to revoke media broadcast licenses unless they behave as more regime friendly.
  • Attacked freedom of speech by pressuring networks to remove Colbert and Kimmel, deporting international students for standing up for Palestine, and arresting peaceful demonstrators.
  • Increased inflation through illegal tariffs and his war on Iran.
  • Paved over Jackie Kennedy’s Rose Garden.
  • Uglified the Oval Office with hundreds of golden trinkets and doodads.
  • Destroyed the East Wing of America’s House (the White House) without permission or prior notice.
  • Placed Trump’s name on the JFK Center for the Arts before closing it for 2 years.
  • Released the Epstein files after redacting the names of predators while revealing the names of victims.
  • Removed the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accords and set about further destroying the environment by returning to coal-fired power plants and permitting oil drilling on environmentally sensitive lands, including the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Illegally executed small boat operators in international waters claiming they were carrying drugs.
  • Weaponized the DOJ to falsely charge Trump’s political enemies with crimes.
  • Expanded ICE and CBP into a large, heavily armed police force answering only to Trump with the intent of arresting and deporting 1 million residents per year.
  • Sent masked, armed thugs into Democratic-led cities where they arrested and terrorized lawful residents and ignored the constitutional right to due process. Operation Metro Surge resulted in $200 million in economic damages to the City of Minneapolis and the murders of 2 U.S. citizens.
  • Weakened alliances with longtime allies and threatened to leave NATO.
  • Against international law, illegally sent troops into Venezuela to capture its president and his wife.
  • Along with Israel, began an illegal, and likely unwinnable, war against Iran committing numerous war crimes, including the bombing of an elementary school, universities and civilian residences.
  • Violated at least 19 provisions of the U.S. Constitution.
  • Spent $100 million of taxpayer money on golf outings with the expectation it will exceed $300 million by the end of Trump’s term.
  • Used the presidency to unconstitutionally enrich the Trump family by at least $4 billion.
  • Increased the national debt by $2.7 trillion thus far by cutting taxes on billionaires and multinational corporations.

When you elect a criminal convicted of 34 felonies you shouldn’t be surprised when he does criminal things. It’s not America first. It’s Trump first.

The Political Division That’s Most Concerning.

It’s not left versus right. It’s left versus left. Those who believe in democracy, human rights and a safe environment versus those who believe in democracy, human rights and a safe environment.

What do I mean by that?

By now it should be abundantly clear that the Felon-in-Chief and his MAGA followers are leading our nation down a path toward oligarchy and dictatorship. They’re succeeding in great part because the resistance has been fragmented and largely rudderless.

For many years, involved and caring voters have been split amongst a wide variety of single-issue organizations focused on guns, homelessness, hunger, wildlife, animal rights, air and water quality, climate change, sustainable energy, racial and gender equity, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, indigenous rights, immigrant rights, organized labor, religious freedom, Palestinian rights, Ukraine, healthcare, public education, reining in military spending, tax fairness, voting rights, breaking up corporate monopolies, etc., etc.

All of these issues are important, and I have personally supported most of them. But we are now facing an ideological movement that vehemently opposes progress toward each of these goals. Indeed, those in control of MAGA have pushed policies that are directly counter to them. And they now control all three branches of government, as well as much of the media.

If patriotic and caring people are to interrupt our nation’s slide into tyranny, we must set aside any inclination to base our votes on single or self-serving issues. We must come together and focus on what really matters. That doesn’t mean we have to abandon the goals we care about most. It means we have to ensure that we have a government that will allow us to pursue those goals.

There is only one issue that is important now: Saving our democracy. Period.

How Bad Is The Minnesota Fraud?

The Trump regime would have you believe that Somali immigrants in Minnesota committed $19 billion in fraud, which was the alleged reason behind Operation Metro Surge (the ICE invasion that brutalized both citizens and noncitizens and left two people dead). But according to an exhaustive study by the Minnesota StarTribune, the figure is actually $217.7 million.

That, of course, is deplorable, but it pales in comparison to the regime’s raids on taxpayer funds. Indeed, it falls short of the expected $300 million taxpayer cost of Trump’s golf outings for his second term. And it’s dwarfed by the $1 billion cost of retrofitting Trump’s mansion in the air that was illegally gifted to him by Qatar.

Trump’s pardons of white-collar criminals have resulted in the forgiveness of more than $1.5 billion in criminal debt owed to victims and the federal government.

Add to that ICE Barbie’s $225 million ad scam and her $270 DHS purchase of luxury jets used for personal travel. There’s also Patel’s personal use of FBI jets for a trip to the Milan Olympics and outings with his girlfriend. There’s the DHS penchant for grossly overpaying for warehouses intended to be used as immigrant concentration camps. And there’s the $660 billion in Trump’s unconstitutional tariffs paid by American consumers.

Even worse is Trump’s illegal and unnecessary war on Iran that’s costing roughly $1 billion per day and could very well drag on for years.

Moreover, it’s estimated that Medicare and Medicaid lose roughly $100 billion annually to fraud, largely because MAGA refuses to hire enough federal auditors to ferret out the abuses. The same is true for the IRS, which is estimated to lose as much as $1 trillion in revenue each year to tax fraud. (Ordinary people are often audited. But billionaires and multinational corporations escape audits because their tax filings are so complex.)

Of course, all of that is a mere fraction of the more than $21 trillion in funding from 1998 to 2015 that the Department of Defense couldn’t account for. The Pentagon has not passed a single audit in its entire history! And despite its $1 trillion budget for this fiscal year, the regime is asking for a $50 billion supplemental budget to replace the munitions expended in just one week of Trump’s assault on Iran, his incursion into Venezuela, and his targeting of alleged drug trafficking boats in international waters.

None of this should come as a surprise. After all, what else should we expect from a regime run by a felon convicted on 34 counts of fraud?

Constitution? What Constitution?

In little more than one year, the Trump regime and the MAGA party have violated or proposed violations of an astounding number of the provisions of the United States Constitution – to the point that one wonders if it any longer has any meaning.

Article 1, Section 4 gives states control of elections, including the times, places and manner of holding elections. Yet Trump and the regime have ordered red states to redistrict in order to gain more congressional seats. The regime intends to limit early voting and mail-in ballots. Trump has also announced his intentions to nationalize elections. And others in the regime propose declaring a national emergency to suspend mid-term elections permitting MAGA to continue its control of Congress.

Article 1, Section 8 gives Congress the exclusive power to raise taxes, control spending, impose tariffs, control commerce with other nations, and to declare war. Yet Trump and his regime have usurped and violated every single provision of this section.

Article 1, Section 9 directs that the privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus protecting individuals from unlawful detention shall not be suspended. Yet the regime’s private army consisting of ICE and CBP have routinely arrested citizens and noncitizens alike often moving them to out-of-state detention centers without the opportunity to call their families or lawyers.

Further, Trump and the regime have completely ignored the provision that “no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office or title of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.” Ignoring this clause, Trump and his family have accepted a $400 million Qatari jet, a $500 million UAE investment in Trump’s crypto venture, and at least $50 million of Saudi investments in the Trump organization!

Numerous news sources have calculated that Trump and his family have raked in at least $4 billion during the first year of his second term.

Article 2, Section 1 details compensation for the President and clearly states that he shall not receive any other emolument from the United States. Nevertheless, Trump continues weekend trips to his own golf resorts where he charges his security detail top dollar for their accommodations resulting in millions in profits for his family organization.

Article 2, Section 3 clearly states that the President shall see that all laws are faithfully executed. Instead, he and his regime routinely break laws, even ignoring the courts that have ruled against them.

1st Amendment states “Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech.” Yet the regime has punished many of those who have spoken out against the Israeli genocide of Palestinians, even deporting students and noncitizens who were here legally.

1st Amendment also provides for freedom of the press. However, Trump and the regime have ordered the cancellation of Late Night with Stephen Colbert and the temporary removal of Jimmy Kimmel. The regime has also threatened media for truthful reporting that is unflattering to the Felon-in-Chief and used the FCC to directly influence the sale of Warner Brothers to a Trump supporter.

1st Amendment provides for the right of the people to peaceably assemble. But, in his first term, Trump ordered the military and police to violently attack peaceful protestors to clear the way for a photo op with a Bible in front of a church. Likewise, in his second term, the regime has encouraged ICE and CBP to attack legal observers overseeing immigrant detentions fatally shooting at least two of them.

4th Amendment states “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effect against unreasonable searches and seizures.” However, the regime has encouraged ICE and CBP to break down doors and remove residents without judicial warrants.

5th Amendment states “no person shall…be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.” (Renee Nicolle Good, Alex Pretti and thousands of legal immigrants anyone?)

8th Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishments. But from videos and reports, nearly every ICE agent and detention center is in violation.

14th Amendment, Section 1 states “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the United States.” Despite the obvious clarity of the wording, Trump is seeking to end birthright citizenship by Executive Order.

14th Amendment, Section 3 states that no person shall hold any office, civil or military, who, having previously taken an oath to support the Constitution shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion. Yet the leader of the January 6 insurrection now sits in the overly gilded Oval Office.

14th Amendment, Section 4 states that “neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States.” Yet Trump is demanding $230M from the DOJ for its investigations into his participation in the January 6 insurrection. He is also seeking $6M in legal fees from the State of Georgia for its investigation into Trump’s election interference. And Ashli Babbit’s family is being paid nearly $5M for her death while attempting to violently enter the House chamber during the insurrection.

15th Amendment ensures the right of black people to vote. But, for more than 40 years, the GOP (aka MAGA) has worked to make it increasingly more difficult for blacks in heavily Democratic areas to vote. And the Trump regime has demanded that MAGA-controlled states gerrymander districts in order to deny blacks equal representation.

19th Amendment gives women the right to vote. Yet the regime’s SAVE Act, if passed, would make it difficult for millions of women to vote.

22nd Amendment limits the President to two four-year terms. But Trump has often spoken about being President for life, and he and his supporters continue to suggest that there are ways around this amendment.

24th Amendment states that the right to vote shall not be denied or abridged for failure to pay a poll tax or other tax. But, in effect, MAGA has created a version of the poll tax by requiring voter IDs in some states and making them increasingly difficult for working people to obtain by limiting the number of locations and closing them on weekends.

26th Amendment gives 18-year-olds the right to vote. But, again, MAGA has made it difficult for many to vote by refusing to accept college-issued IDs and requiring college students to vote in their parents’ home district.

And the Trump regime’s disdain for the law is not limited to violating the Constitution.

The regime has violated numerous laws, including the Hatch Act which forbids federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities while on duty. The regime violated the Impoundment Control Act, which requires the president to obtain congressional approval to withhold appropriated funds, when it blocked funds for governmental agencies, universities, research facilities and more. And it illegally dismantled independent agencies, such as USAID and the U.S. Institute of Peace without congressional approval.

In addition, Trump and the regime have committed a multitude of federal ethics violations, including misuse of federal resources for personal gain. (I’m thinking of you, Kash Patel, Kristi Noem, and Pete Hegseth.) Moreover, Trump and the regime continue to defy multiple court orders.

And unwilling to stop at breaking U.S. laws, Trump and his regime have broken international laws by kidnapping the president of Venezuela and pursuing an ill-conceived war against Iran led by the war criminal Netanyahu.

Tell me again: Which is the “Law and Order Party?”
